Walking around with the world in the palm of my hand Sometimes I gotta pause for a second, put it in my pocket, pay attention to the present moment again I'm not trying to stay ignorant, but I don't really have the capacity To hold it all in my head and maintain some semblance of functionality So I tune it all out, try to think about how to navigate myself authentically Use my heart like a compass on a map of intuition being guided via empathy Make my way on down from, toxic masculine mountain, past the swamp of guilty privilege Material wealth is irrelevant and I'd prefer to measure my successes in the depths of my relationships But I'm going in circles and I'm back at the start again I was lost in my thoughts, now I can't stop ruminatin' on the big picture and How it takes a little time to get yourself all figured out And a little bit more to be OK with realizing that you never will Gotta slow down, pull my phone out, need something to distract me from myself and I Scroll through my feeds, comment on a few things, look at all the junk I cant afford to buy Inbound notification, "Looks like you missed a payment", I'm just trying to find a moment here The shepherds gotta keep an eye on his sheep, "you don't own the wool you've grown n' yer lookin' ready for the shears, so come'ere and..." Walking around with the weight of the world in my hands I wish I could pause for one second or better yet eject it towards the nearest garbage bin But I've gotta stay connected, input bio-metrics, start the cycle once again I'm in the middle of my life, wonderin' if it ever stops feelin' like the end

back to the start - a return to how it all begins - the past informing the present and changing the future - new ways to make the same mistakes - patterns into phases - the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end

I'm singing guitar songs again and it feels really nice. I'm not sure how often these will appear but I hope you enjoy hearing them. Circular Inertia is a mid-tempo groover about the many cycles we go through in our constantly connected lives.
